Ingredients:

  • 500g (1.1 pounds) mixed nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts)
  • 200g (7 ounces) dark chocolate
  • 120g (1 cup) sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 150g (2/3 cup) butter
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Separate egg whites from yolks. Whisk egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Refrigerate. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks with sugar. Add softened butter, mix until smooth.
  2. Finely chop the dark chocolate. Lightly toast the peeled nuts for enhanced aroma, then chop them into various-sized pieces, including fine crumbs and larger chunks. Add chocolate to the egg-yolk mixture, followed by nuts. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients. Gently fold in the whipped egg whites.
  3. Line a baking dish with parchment paper and pour in the batter. Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for approximately 40 minutes or until done.
