Homemade Pickle Pizza

Don’t knock down this pizza recipe until you try it. Even those who are not a fan of pickles were able to enjoy a piece of this pizza! We prefer our homemade thin pizza crust, but you can sure use a storebought crust. And then, the crust is topped with a creamy, sour cream-based garlic sauce, dill pickles, and both mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

PICKLE PIZZA INGREDIENTS

Crust: Again, I prefer my homemade thin pizza crust; it is super simple, doesn’t require rise time, and is ready in under 30 minutes. You could also buy pizza dough at the store. If you prefer a thicker crust, you will have to increase the baking time.

Garlic Sauce: This homemade garlic sauce is AMAZING, but it isn’t just for pizzas. In fact, it is a delicious dipping sauce and can give everything from bread to chicken some added flavor!

Pickles: Thinly sliced dill pickles were preferred on this pizza. But, you can cut them as thick as you would like! You could also buy dill pickle chips.

Cheese: I used shredded mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese on top of the pizza.

If you like protein on your pizza, add some ham or Canadian bacon!

HOW TO MAKE GARLIC SAUCE

The garlic sauce complements the pickles so well in this pickle pizza! To make the garlic sauce, I used half of the amount of the original recipe. But, as I stated above, you may want to make a full batch and save half for a dipping sauce. Anyway, the sauce is the first thing you want to make for this recipe.

To make the sauce, it doesn’t get much simpler. In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients until the mixture is creamy and smooth. If not using right away, store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.

HOW TO MAKE PICKLE PIZZA

Once the sauce has been made, it’s super easy to get this pizza served in about 20 minutes! To make the pizza, first, roll out the dough to a 12-inch circle. You can use a pizza pan or pizza stone to cook the pizza.

Next, evenly spread out the garlic sauce over the crust. Then, top with the sliced pickles and both kinds of cheese. Bake in the oven for 16-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese has melted. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it sit for about 3 minutes before cutting and serving.
