Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • Sour cream – 0.5 cup (120 ml)
  • Cherry juice – 2.5 tablespoons (37 ml)
  • Veal – 10.5 oz (300 g)
  • Cinnamon – a pinch
  • Salt
  • Canned cherries – 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • Flour – 1 tablespoon (8 g)
  • Butter – 1.5 tablespoons (21 g)
  • Meat broth – 3.4 fl oz (100 ml)

Instructions:

Prepare the Veal:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Drain the cherry juice and remove the pits from the cherries. Make deep cuts in the veal along the grain and stuff with cherries. Season with salt.

Grease a baking dish with 0.5 tablespoon (7 g) of butter, place the veal in it, sprinkle with cinnamon, and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until half-cooked.

Make the Sauce:

In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter. Add the flour and cook, stirring, until golden brown. Pour in the broth, add the sour cream, and mix well. Then, add the cherry juice and bring to a boil.

Remove the veal from the oven, pour the sauce over it, and return to the oven. Cook for another 30-35 minutes until tender.
