Ingredients for 30 Servings
- Cloves – 3 buds
- Cranberries – 600 g (21.2 oz)
- Vodka – 1 cup (240 ml)
- Honey – 2 tbsp
- Cinnamon stick – 1
- Sugar – 500 g (2 1/2 cups)
- Cognac – 500 ml (17 fl oz)
Directions
Prepare the Cranberries:
Wash and dry the cranberries, then lightly crush them. Place the cranberries in a glass jar, add the sugar, and mix well. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
Cook the Cranberries:
Add 1 cup (240 ml) of water to the cranberry mixture, transfer to a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, let cool, return to the jar, cover, and let infuse for 3-4 days. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve, separating the cranberries and the liquid into two different containers.
Infuse with Alcohol:
Pour the vodka over the cranberries and cognac into the liquid infusion. Cover both containers and let sit for 2 weeks.
Combine and Finish:
After 2 weeks, strain the vodka into a glass jar and mix with the cognac infusion. Add honey, the cinnamon stick, and cloves. Seal the jar tightly and store in a cool, dark place for 1 month.
Helpful Tip:
For a less dense and clearer infusion, strain the Cranberry Cognac Infusion through white cotton fabric before pouring it into a decanter or bottle.
Fun Fact:
Feel free to add other spices to your Cranberry Cognac Infusion. If you find the clove flavor too strong, try using star anise or natural cardamom instead.
Enjoy this Cranberry Cognac Infusion as an elegant and flavorful addition to your drink repertoire, perfect for making any occasion special with its unique and refined taste.
