Sugar Crescents: Childhood Favorite Treat

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams (8.8 ounces) margarine
  • 1/2 cup (120 milliliters) warm milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 500 grams (3-3.5 cups) flour

Sugar Crescents: Childhood Favorite Treat

Instructions:

  1. Melt the margarine. Sift the flour with baking powder. Rub the yeast with the flour. Beat the eggs, pour in the milk and margarine.
  2. Knead the dough, transfer it to a bag, and refrigerate for two hours. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  3. Divide the dough into 5 parts. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of sugar (you can mix the sugar with cinnamon) onto the table, place a piece of dough on the sugar, and roll out a 5-6 mm thick cake.
  4. Cut into segments and roll each segment into a crescent shape. You can add filling; I used jelly candies or any kind of marmalade, placed on the segment and rolled up.
  5. Place on a baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
