Ingredients:
- 2 liters (8 cups) of milk
- 1-1.5 tablespoons of sour cream
Instructions:
Start by skimming the cream off the top of the fresh milk using a spoon and transferring it into a separate container.
Pour the milk into a saucepan and place it on the stove. Heat the milk gently.
Stirring continuously, heat the milk over low heat until it reaches a temperature of 36-37 degrees Celsius (97-99 degrees Fahrenheit). Then, remove it from the heat.
In a separate bowl, mix a few tablespoons of warm milk with the sour cream until you achieve a homogeneous mixture.
Next, pour half of the milk into a clean jar, followed by the diluted sour cream mixture, and then top it off with the remaining milk. Stir well.
Cover the jar with cheesecloth (folded into several layers) and wrap it with a thick towel. Leave it overnight.
