Asian-Style Broccoli with Ginger

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

  • 450 g (16 oz) broccoli
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 4 cm (1.5 inch) fresh ginger root
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tbsp vegetable oil

Prepare the Broccoli:

Separate the broccoli into small florets. Slice the stems thinly. Blanch them in boiling salted water for 3 minutes, then transfer to a bowl of ice water. Drain in a colander and shake off excess water.

Peel and finely slice the ginger. Peel and slice the garlic. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok and quickly stir-fry the ginger and garlic for 10 seconds.
