Ingredients:
For the Dough:
- 200 grams (7 ounces) soft butter
- A pinch of salt
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup kefir
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Vanilla or vanilla sugar
For the Filling:
- Approximately 500 grams (17.6 ounces) pitted cherries
- 1/2 cup sugar
Instructions:
For the dough, sift the flour into a bowl, add salt, baking powder, mix well, add butter, rub it with the flour, then pour in the kefir and knead a soft dough, if you feel that there is not enough flour, add more.
Roll out the dough into a thin layer, about 3 mm thick. Cut into strips 20-30 cm long and 7-8 cm wide. Place cherries in a row in the middle of each strip, sprinkle with sugar, and pinch into a swirl.
Place the cherry-filled swirls spirally in a baking dish and bake at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) until golden brown, approximately 30-40 minutes. Remove the pie from the dish, dust with powdered sugar.
