These puffs are versatile and can be enjoyed as a snack or a dessert. Once you try them, they might become your go-to homemade delicacy!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of milk or buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp odorless sunflower oil
- 3 cups of flour
- Sunflower oil for frying
- 4 tbsp Sour cream
- 3 tbsp sugar
Instructions:
In warm milk, dissolve the yeast, add oil, salt, sugar, egg, flour, and knead the dough. Cover it with a towel and let it rise for about an hour.
In the meantime, you can attend to other household chores. When the dough has risen and you have about half an hour of free time, you can start frying the puffs.
Divide the dough into pieces and roll out the puffs to a thickness of 0.5-0.7 mm.
Fry them in hot sunflower oil on both sides until golden brown.
Place the hot puff on a plate, immediately spread sour cream over it, and sprinkle with sugar.
Place the next cooked puff on top of the previous one and repeat the process of spreading sour cream and sprinkling sugar. Continue with all the fried puffs.
You will end up with a stack of cream-coated and sugar-dusted puffs. You can use homemade or store-bought sour cream, depending on your preference. I personally prefer the store-bought one because it is less fatty.
