Cheesy Garlic Potato Casserole

  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3-4 tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 100 grams (3.5 oz) of cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of dried dill (or other preferred herbs)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Servings: 4

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Grate the Cheese and Garlic: Grate the cheese finely and mince the garlic cloves.
  2. Prepare the Egg-Cheese Mixture: Combine half of the grated cheese with eggs and dried dill. This mixture will be used to create a delicious golden-brown crust on top of the casserole.
  3. Make the Garlic-Mayonnaise Mixture: Mix the remaining cheese and garlic with mayonnaise. This will be the base for the casserole.
  4. Prepare the Potatoes: Peel and grate the potatoes using a coarse grater. Add them to the garlic-mayonnaise mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Assemble the Casserole: Spread the potato mixture evenly into a 26 cm (10-inch) baking dish.
  6. Top with the Egg-Cheese Mixture: Spread the egg-cheese mixture over the top of the potato mixture.
  7. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the casserole for 40 minutes until golden brown on top.
  8. Serve: Once baked, the casserole should have a golden crust. Serve hot and enjoy!
