Tomato and Onion Appetizer for Meat

Ingredients:

For 15 servings:

  • 15 tomatoes
  • 15 bulbs of onion
  • 2-3 heads of garlic

For 1 liter of marinade:

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) vinegar
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) salt
  • Aspirin tablets
  • Bay leaf, black peppercorns, allspice, cloves

Yield: 4.5-5 liters

Instructions:

  1. Wash the vegetables and cut them into large pieces.
  2. Layer the tomatoes, garlic, and onions in clean sterilized jars, alternating until reaching the top.
  3. For the marinade, mix all the marinade ingredients and bring to a boil.
  4. Pour the hot marinade over the tomatoes and onions, filling the jars to the top. Place the jars in a pot of boiling water for 10 minutes. Seal with lids.
  5. The next day, your appetizer is ready to accompany your meat dishes, adding a burst of flavor to your barbecue.
