Ingredients:
- Beef, 1 kg (brisket)
- Potatoes, 600-900 g (1.3-2 lbs)
- Tomatoes, 5 pieces
- Bell peppers, 2 pieces
- Onions, 2 pieces
- Garlic
- Greens
- Black pepper
- Salt
Instructions:
- Chop the beef into pieces and rinse it.
- Peel the onions and slice them into large rings.
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into large wedges.
- In a large pot or a thick-bottomed pan, layer the beef and then the onions.
- Cut the tomatoes into large wedges, not too small. Remove the seeds from the bell peppers and cut them into squares or large strips.
- Layer the tomatoes on top of the beef and onions, followed by the bell peppers. After that, add the potatoes. You can repeat these layers if needed.
- Pour enough room temperature water into the pot to barely cover the ingredients. Season with black pepper and salt. Cover with a lid, set the heat to low, and simmer the dish for 2.5-3 hours or until it’s ready.
- When serving, garnish the hashlama in individual plates with crushed garlic and chopped greens.
Enjoy your meal!
