STEP-BY-STEP COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Finely chop the peeled onion, olives, and sweet bell pepper until they become a paste-like consistency. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
Slice the meat products, poultry, and cheese into thin slices.
Divide the dough into two parts and roll out each piece thinly.
Place one layer of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and greased with vegetable oil.
Spread half of the vegetable paste evenly on top of the dough, then arrange the ham, cheese, salami, cheese, poultry meat, and the remaining vegetable paste.
Cover with the remaining layer of dough. Place the assembled pie in a warm place for about 20 minutes for proofing.
Bake the risen pie in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-40 minutes.
Remove the cooked pie from the oven, let it cool for about 20 minutes, and then cut it into pieces.
Traditionally, muffuletta is a cold appetizer. The ready-made round bread is sliced in half, the crumb is removed, and it is filled with the same set of ingredients in the same order.
