Ginger and Green Onion Fried Rice

Ginger and Green Onion Fried Rice

Ingredients (Serves 4):

  • Cooked long-grain rice: 400g (14 oz)
  • Fresh ginger root: 4 cm (1.6 inches)
  • Garlic cloves: 4
  • Large bunch of green onions
  • Vegetable oil: 3 tbsp (45ml)
  • Dark sesame oil
  • Soy sauce for serving

Prepare the Ingredients:

Peel and finely chop the ginger and garlic.

Slice the white part of the green onions into thin rings and mix with the ginger and garlic. Cut the green part of the green onions diagonally into 2 cm (0.8 inch) pieces.

Heat the Oil:

In a wok or large skillet, heat about 3 tbsp (45ml) of vegetable oil over high heat until it is almost smoking.

 

Stir-Fry Aromatics:

Add the ginger, garlic, and white part of the green onions to the hot oil. Stir-fry for 20 seconds until fragrant.

Add Green Onions and Rice:

Add the green part of the onions and stir-fry for another 10 seconds. Then, add the cooked rice. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, mixing well to combine all the flavors.
